Behind the Scenes 5 Easy Ways to Support MRN Online

5 Easy Ways to Support MRN Online

June 3, 2019 by Blake Imeson

We have high hopes for the Lord to bless the Malawi Reformation Network. There are many promising signs that he is already doing so. He even blesses and utilizes our use of the web!

My name is Blake Imeson and I’m part of the volunteer team working on MRN’s web and email efforts. My day-to-day work is helping businesses and organizations leverage the web.

There are the obvious ways you can participate with MRN in bringing solid Biblical teaching and training to Malawi; prayer and financial support are critical. Does the Lord need our website, email updates, and Social Media activity to accomplish gospel rejuvenation in Malawi? No, he is sovereign and not reliant upon us. However, we believe he is pleased to use our efforts and these means towards his kingdom purposes.

I’d like to take a look today at 5 easy ways you can support MRN and its mission using the web.

1. Follow MRN on Social Media

There have already been several providential connections made by people “bumping” into MRN online who otherwise may not have known about these efforts. We’ve connected with churches in Scotland and fellow gospel laborers in Malawi.

By liking and following our Social Media pages you are helping extend our global reach.

Here are the places where we’d love to have you connect with MRN:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter – @ReformMalawi
  • Instagram – @reformationmalawi

2. Read and Keep in Tune

MRN attempts to post updates/email once a week. This is primarily to keep our network and co-laborers informed about how the Lord is working through this effort. It is important that we share the victories and the struggles. There is a real story unfolding here and we are doing our best to document it. We hope you are encouraged and refreshed by watching what the Lord is doing in Malawi through MRN.

Our hope is similar to what Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3…

You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra—which persecutions I endured; yet from them all the Lord rescued me.
– 2 Timothy 3:10-11

3. Like and Comment

When you “like” or interact with one of our posts on something like Facebook it helps that post “travel” farther and be seen by more people. The way these Social site algorithms work is the more likes and interactions a post gets the more they will show it to other people.

Our team is encouraged by your comments. It is a great blessing to know you are praying for these specific items we are sharing.

4. Sign up for Our Email Updates

Our weekly blog post is also emailed; this is a great way to not miss any key news. We also send this email list special updates that aren’t public on the website.

Ready to sign up for our emails?

5. Share With Others Who Would Appreciate

Yes, re-sharing our posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram is helpful. Even more helpful is if you read an update and a particular person comes to mind who might appreciate it, be encouraged by it, or help support us in some way.

We hope you will support us with the above online activities. Please pray specifically that the Lord would help the news of this effort travel via the web to people who might be able to partner with us, guide us, be part of MRN, and continually pray with us.
