Luke writes in the book of Acts 17:11 “Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.”
Why did Luke say the Bereans were nobler than those in Thessalonica? Because the Bereans had three noble characteristics. They were: Available to receive the word, Faithful to search the scriptures for themselves, and Teachable to see what they were learning was true.
These same traits are the ones we are looking for in the men in whom we seek to invest. MRN is praying for men who are available to serve the Lord in Malawi. We are seeking to invest in Malawian men who are faithful to our Father in answering His call to pastor churches in their own home country. MRN is also looking for teachable men who will humble themselves to learn in seminary and under the mentorship of Pastor Jason Helopoulos and the Session of URC as part of preparations for their work in Malawi.
We are seeking to invest in Malawian men who are faithful to our Father in answering His call to pastor churches in their own home country.Tweet itAs we pray for these men, we should also pray for ourselves, and strive to be like the Bereans- Faithful to the Father, Available to be used as He sees fit, and Teachable to see what is true.
